Tharindu Welhenage, born on the 24th of July 1996, is a versatile professional who has excelled in various fields, including media, event management, and digital marketing. With a passion for innovation and a drive for success, Tharindu has left an indelible mark on the industries he has ventured into.

Tharindu's journey began at Ananda College, Colombo, where he discovered his passion for media. He served as a Board member of the Broadcasting Unit and, in 2015, he became one of the chief Sinhala announcers. During his time at Ananda College, he played a significant role in organising the groundbreaking "Sandeshaya Awards," the first and only media award ceremony conducted by a school, showcasing his leadership and organisational skills.

In 2015, Tharindu directed a captivating short film titled "Nikmeema," which garnered acclaim and won the prestigious Best School Short Film award. His talent for storytelling and cinematography showcased his creative abilities and propelled him further in his pursuits.

Tharindu's dedication extended beyond academics and media, as he also earned recognition as a presidential award-winning scout. Additionally, he excelled in his Dhamma school education at Sri Pannathissa Dhamma School-Malabe and was appointed as the head prefect in 2014. In the same year, he was honored with the "Most Talented Student of the Year" award, recognizing his exceptional skills and contributions.

Following his schooling, Tharindu joined "TV Derana," one of Sri Lanka's prominent media channels, where he gained valuable experience working in the news department. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, he established his own digital marketing company, "Sky View Productions," in 2017. Through his company, he served as a digital marketing consultant for several leading businesses in Sri Lanka, leveraging his expertise to help them achieve their marketing goals.

Tharindu's ambition and desire for positive change led him to launch his very own Miss Sri Lanka pageant in 2019. The pageant, held at the esteemed Galadari Hotel in Colombo, aimed to challenge the injustices and substandard competition prevalent in the Sri Lankan modeling industry. Tharindu's innovative concept, "0% Nudity-100% Classy," positioned him as one of the youngest and most visionary national directors in Asia. Under his guidance, the winner of the pageant represented Sri Lanka in the Miss Tourism pageant held in China.

Recognized for his accomplishments in the industry, Tharindu was appointed as the Event Producer of the 2019 Mrs. Sri Lanka World pageant. His commitment and dedication played a significant role in Mrs. Caroline Jurie's victory, as she brought back the prestigious Mrs. World title to Sri Lanka after a hiatus of 35 years. Tharindu's exceptional achievements have earned him a nomination for the Young Asian Excellence Male Personality category in the field of Event & Pageantry, as the "Excellent Young Asian Male Media Personality & Youngest Sri Lankan Pageant Producer & Director Award 2021."

Currently, Tharindu continues to contribute to the digital marketing industry as a consultant and digital creator, collaborating with respected entities in Sri Lanka. Inspired by his success in event management, he has embarked on a new chapter in his professional journey. Under the name "Talk with Tharindu Welhenage," he has launched his YouTube channel with the goal of revolutionizing the traditional YouTube experience and making a lasting impact in the world of media.
